Trial Run 6"x 8"

I've been wanting to see if I can paint while sitting in my car because I'm just no good at cold weather.  It was pretty messy and cramped.  Tried to use my Easy-L paint box on my lap but the seat wouldn't go back far enough so I had to do it kind of sideways.
I plan to try again with a tiny paint box my husband made for me when I first started painting outside. I much prefer standing but I'm going to try to figure this out so I can paint outside this winter.

  1. Love your beautiful neutrals.
I paint all the time in the car and it certainly is possible and much more comfortable than freezing your butt off.. I have two ways to do it.
A tray on my lap - one of those with a cushion attached underneath. I push it forward and rest it on my lap AND the open glove compartment.

OR...a modified tv tray. two legs for the front on the floor and the other two cut off and the top rests on my lap. I use a paint box with a lid which the painting rests in and has the palette part below it. OR...
Same tray with a painting carrier which acts like a table top easel. I have a separate paint palette for that which balances back on the open glove compartment. I place the palette in a pizza box to have in the car.
I have the solvent in a tall container which fits in the cup holder. Tall so nothing splashes out and I try to use a knife for most of the painting.
    Hope this makes sense.
